Collecting Objects: The Timeline Project

Timelines are a way to keep track of when, where, and what happened at certain moments in life. We hope to create a collective of timelines which can represent us as people alive in the current world.

Who are we and what are we doing at any given time? What similarities do you have with someone on the other side of the world? How many people are doing the same thing as you right now?

In this rendition of Collecting objects, the goal is to create a timeline with objects you find or use through out the day. We are going to send you evidence gathering materials for you to collect and label all the items you find. FIll up all the bags we send you and send them back.

Heres what to do:

1. Sign up! Just fill in you name and shipping info on the right.
2. We ship to you! You'll get your timeline keeping kit. This kit consists of 10 evidence bags and 10 evidence tags.
3. Create! Start creating timelines. (be as creative and conceptual as you want. It's okay to even make up a fake timeline.)
4. Send us your timelines Stick your timelines in an envelope and send them in to us. We will be having an exhibition with all of the timelines at our gallery in Atlanta, Ga on January 23rd, 2008.
